What's the Issue?

Issues, like risks, crop up in a project unforeseen and with the potential to throw you off course. Having a robust way to manage issues is important for any project manager.

Before you start your project you need to have put some thought into the process that you will use to manage issues when they arise. For example who is responsible for certain types of issues, when is an issue sever enough to be raised as a more senior level, if an issue leads to a change then how does this happen?

Once you have looked at the process it's important that you have an Issue Management Log where all problems, inconsistencies or conflicts are recorded, analysed, prioritised and action through to completion.
